Innovation Researcher to Speak at Entrepreneurial Conference
Indianapolis, Ind. (Feb. 12, 2020)- Efosa Ojomo, who has built a global reputation for helping entrepreneurs build prosperity by thinking differently, will deliver the keynote address at Elevate Ventures’ annual Kinetic conference on April 15.
Ojomo is global prosperity lead and senior research fellow at the Clayton Christensen Institute for Disruptive Innovation in Lexington, Massachusetts. Elevate Ventures, an Indiana venture development organization, is hosting Kinetic on April 14-15 at the Biltwell Event Center in Indianapolis.
An accomplished author and speaker, Ojomo’s research on innovation and global prosperity has been featured in Harvard Business Review, the Guardian, CNBC and other media outlets. He worked alongside Harvard Business School Professor and architect of Disruptive Innovation Clayton Christensen to help entrepreneurs and innovators create inclusive economic prosperity through innovation. Ojomo graduated from Vanderbilt University with a degree in computer engineering and received an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Ojomo’s keynote address will focus on how different innovation creates value and helps economies prosper. He will also explain the need for a symbiotic relationship between the public and private sectors to advance prosperity.
“There is a big divide between government and business, and we need to focus on progress. Progress defined by how many more Americans are getting access to the things that make their lives prosperous. To make this kind of progress, we need the government and the private sector to work together,” Ojomo said.
Ojomo commended Elevate Ventures, the State of Indiana and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation for its efforts and ongoing relationship.
“The Elevate Ventures model is amazing. The infrastructure between the government and the private sector, using a nonprofit vehicle, creates a foundation for innovation and entrepreneurship in Indiana,” he said.
Ojomo’s most recent book, The Prosperity Paradox: How Innovation Can Lift Nations Out of Poverty, was published with co-authors Christensen and Karen Dillon in 2019. The book offers a framework for economic growth based on entrepreneurship and market-creating innovation. Copies of the book will be available at Kinetic on a first-come, first-serve basis.
“We are excited to host Efosa at Kinetic; his knowledge and understanding on how innovation and entrepreneurism affect an ecosystem is thought-provoking,” said Chris LaMothe, CEO of Elevate Ventures. “His insights will challenge entrepreneurs and state leaders to build on Indiana’s momentum to compete at a national level.”
Early bird prices for Kinetic end of Feb. 29. Conference features include expert-led information sessions, the inaugural Elevate Nexus conference, investor one-on-one meetings, and various networking opportunities. Click here to register.
